This document refers to the Reform Taoist Congregation website, located at http://www.reformtaoism.org.
The Reform Taoist Congregation website host (Groupee) automatically collects server log file information (which may include Internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser types, Internet service provider (ISP) information, referring/exit pages, platform types, date/time stamps, and other information). This information is not linked to any personally identifiable information; it is used to analyze trends, administer the site, track users' movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use.
In order to become a member of the Reform Taoist Congregation website, you will need to supply certain personal information, which is e-mailed directly to — and stored at the discretion of —
("the administrator"). This information includes your name; city, state and country of residence; e-mail address; date of birth; a personal statement of interest in the Reform Taoist Congregation; and any other information that you choose to offer.
The administrator will not intentionally disclose your personally identifiable information to any third party (with the exception of adding your e-mail address to the aforementioned Listbox list) without your prior consent, except when compelled to do so by law.
The administrator will strive to ensure that none of the personally identifiable information that you provide on this site is viewable by the general public (i.e. individuals who are not members of the Reform Taoist Congregation) without your consent, and that any material that you submit for publication on the website will be kept anonymous unless you expressly inform the administrator that your name or other information may be publicly displayed in connection with the submitted material. Your name and other personally identifiable information may be displayed to other members on non-public areas of the site or in e-mail communication to other members (such as the newsletter), unless you expressly inform the administrator that you wish to remain anonymous, in which case the administrator will make a reasonable and good-faith effort to accommodate your wishes. Information that you provide for your profile in the Community area of the website is viewable by other Reform Taoist Congregation members. Our Community elements (including our discussion board and chat rooms) are hosted by Groupee; please see the Groupee Privacy Policy for more information pertaining to our Community area.
Membership is not available to individuals who are under 18 years of age. Membership applications submitted by persons under the age of 18 (as determined or reasonably suspected by the administrator) will be rejected without review, and any personal information received by the administrator in connection with such applications will be deleted.
The administrator reserves the right to send you e-mail related to your membership in the Reform Taoist Congregation (including general newsletters and announcements), as well as personal messages. (In order to facilitate newsletter and announcement mailings, members' e-mail addresses are added to a private mailing list hosted by Listbox.)
Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, no guarantees are explicitly or implicitly offered regarding the security or protection of your personally identifiable information from loss, theft, accidental or unintentional disclosure to a third party or the general public, human error, or malfunction of software and/or hardware. IF YOU INTENTIONALLY OR UNINTENTIONALLY REVEAL ANY PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION WHILE UTILIZING THIS WEBSITE OR ANY AFFILIATED E-MAIL ADDRESS OR MAILING LIST IN ANY WAY, YOU DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK.
This Privacy Policy may be changed at any time. Notice of any change will be posted in the "Updates and Changes" section of the Home page within 24 hours of the change. If you do not agree with all revisions following posting of the notice, then you must discontinue your use of this website within 24 hours of the posting of the notice. Additionally, if you are a member of the Reform Taoist Congregation, then you must inform the administrator of your desire to cancel your membership within 24 hours of the posting of the notice. Once 24 hours have elapsed since the posting of the notice, continued use of this website or failure to notify the administrator of your desire to cancel your membership will constitute your acceptance of the Privacy Policy, including any and all revisions.
